Opening our 45th Season, Perseverance Theatre presents the groundbreaking rock musical sensation, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Over the course of a singular, defiant performance, witness the spiral of anti-hero frontwoman of fictional rock band The Angry Inch. After a botched gender-reassignment surgery and human trafficking to the United States by her husband, a US Army General, Hedwig recreates herself as a rockstar destined for fame and fortune - if only she can perform in venues bigger than the parking lot of the local Outback Steakhouse. Winner of 4 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical in 2014, this cult-classic takes audiences on an exhilarating journey of radical, queer self-discovery, self-love, and self-acceptance.
