2025-26 Arts Administration Apprenticeship
PERSEVERANCE THEATRE, Alaska's largest professional theatre, is seeking a qualified apprentice for our 2025-2026 season in the administrative departments. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Leslie Ishii and Managing Director Frank Delaney, Perseverance produces musical, contemporary, and world premiere productions in Juneau and Anchorage. Perseverance is committed to building a community of staff and apprentices, and individuals from under-resourced groups to support the economic stability of our ecosystem. Apprenticeships will run roughly August 2025 through April 2026. A $230 weekly stipend, housing, travel, and local transportation will be provided.
APPRENTICESHIP DESCRIPTION - ARTS ADMINISTRATION APPRENTICE
The Arts Administration Apprentice will work with the Managing Director, Director of Development, Associate Managing Director, and other staff to assist in administrative needs of a professional non-profit theatre. They will work in an official role on up to two productions, to be determined based on need, and individual strength/interest. They will also assist with other administrative and technical elements of the season. Other professional development opportunities will be provided based on interest and strengths.
- Preparing administrative paperwork, organizing and implementing processes, and conducting special research
- Supporting the design and distribution of social media assets
- Supporting the distribution of marketing materials to local partners (Table Tents, Posters/Flyers, Postcards)
- Assisting the organization and facilitation of special cast/crew/community talkbacks
- Supporting the design and execution of marketing campaigns for Mainstage, Phoenix, and community events.
- Assisting in coordination and execution of fundraising activities (donor correspondence, raffle, events, annual campaign) and grants projects (research, writing, preparation)
- Assisting in entering and maintaining donor, artist and patron information in our CRM database
- Assisting with prep or execution on non-mainstage events throughout the year as requested
- Assisting company management with communications with artists, budgeting, bookings, airport pick-ups, housing upkeep, and/or car maintenance.
- Administering general office tasks, including answering the main phone lines, directing calls, and selling and exchanging tickets. Participating in all-staff meetings / work calls (cleaning, events, production work, strike, etc.)
Directly reports to: Managing Director, Director of Development, Associate Managing Director
Perseverance prides itself on collaboration and on-the-job learning. The apprentices at Perseverance Theatre will work directly with staff members to train in their area of focus and of all operations in this professional regional theatre. All positions at Perseverance Theatre complete duties separate from their area of focus. This might include general office tasks, production tasks, cleaning, strike, manual labor, etc.
